Eye candy

A common slang for visual appeal is eye candy. It is shown to address the concept of eye catching while laying down a concept of sexuality as well.

This term has been applied to visual effects in film, video games and user interfaces; it often adds little to the overall plot, gameplay, or interface, and people have criticized developers who rely on eye candy too much. However, it is equally important to have some form of eye candy in most games, as it adds a sense of realism. The appeal shown in many visual effects is used to snare those who may witness these effects.

It is also used to refer to actors cast solely for the visual enjoyment of the audience, e.g., for their sex appeal. Something or someone who competently fills a role as well as looking good may also be referred to as eye candy as a compliment. Various novels, articles, and stories have used this slang term to show a moderate attraction to or for a particular person.
