Franchise businesses – a ready made business opportunity – why it may be right for you.

If you have dreamed of becoming your own boss a franchise business could be the life changing experience you desire. If you have longed for your own company but are unsure of how to get the business up and running, buying a franchise could eliminate all the hard work. You do not have to find the location, negotiate a lease etc. Buying a franchise is like buying a system and can be a great investment.
Buying a franchise is very different from starting your own business from scratch, you will already have a system in place and you must simply follow that system. Having the system already set out will eliminate any guess work and the chances of success are greatly increased. You will not have to deal with eliminating competition from established franchise operators, you will become the competition immediately.
As consumers are more comfortable buying from brands they already know and trust, buying a franchise within an established company with a strong corporate image is likely to be more successful. Along with this you will find it easier to borrow money from lenders as they are already aware of the success of the company, they feel more comfortable lending to a business with a proven track record. You may even find some franchise businesses offer their own in-house lending.
You will never be alone with a franchise business, you will be given significant training, and you will be taught exactly how to run the franchise like all the others in the business so you can achieve the same success. The franchisor will always be there to offer support; even other franchisees will be there to provide advice.
The franchisor will normally take care of advertising the new store which will take the pressure of marketing off you and if they do not deal with it directly you will be given a guideline off how to do it yourself.
The opportunity for growth is high within the franchise system and you could become a multi-unit franchise owner. Obviously your first franchise will have to be well established and have a great management team in place before you can start concentrating on a second business, but the opportunity to progress into multiple stores is a lot higher and the pace faster than if you were to build a business from scratch.
The main disadvantage of buying a franchise is the loss of control in terms of being given a system to abide by, but if you wish to fast-track your career and become your own boss within an established company this may be the answer for you.

The price of a franchise varies from company to company and should be thoroughly researched before making an investment, you should be aware of all binds that are set out in the contract and ensure this is the right decision for you before investing.
