Hello. My name is David Firth and I spend my life making stuff for you to watch, listen to and in some cases, smell. Hello to the people of last year. The time has come to announce that I"m not dead and I am doing stuff. This may sound like a lie, so to prove it, here are 4 cartoons from last year. They were part of an ambitious writing project between Crust and Myself, taking some characters from the original Fat-Pie series, along with new ones and throwing them into a new world that just happens to be inside a giant sock (even though this is not visualized at any point). Zeppotron (production company) liked this idea so asked us for four one minute shorts for Charlie Brooker"s screenwipe in the hope of generating interest for a possible pilot. This is when the problems started because we had so many ideas and so many characters we wanted to use, yet only 4 separate 1 minute episodes which needed to not only introduce characters but also have them actually do something. In the end we tried a few styles, the first two are lightning-quick scene jumping muddles and the other two are character-based stories that try and do too much in too little time. So once again I was unhappy with the final result and a lesson was learnt; don"t water down a big idea. I also re-learnt an old lesson; making an entire cartoon in a week is not fun. watch them 1234 visit fat pie now... what an amzing creature this David Firth from the Uk is...a genius whos not dead after all but alive and kicking thats nice and our lives are happy seeing him at work, what a man..our hero, well at the moment anyways burnt face man jerry jackson devvo"s corner stop frame Jims Story Music Videos randomstuff fat pie 1-3 total collection Salad Fingers, the creation of David Firth, has got to be one of the strangest Flash series ever conceived. I suppose that"s why we love it so much! some of that you tube stuff here and here In the surreal cartoons, the eponymous Salad Fingers inhabits a desolate, sparsely populated post- apocolyptic (caused by the Great War as refrenced in episodes 7 and 8) world in which he revels in the delightful feeling of the textures of various objects on his salad fingers (his fingers are long, green and strangely shaped). He enjoys rusty articles (especially spoons) and derives similar pleasure from experiencing pain. He appears to enjoy meeting new people, though many of his acquaintances are simply avatars (such as finger puppets including Hubert Cumberdale, Jeremy Fisher, and Marjory Stewart Baxter) for which he provides voice. On the rare occasion he hears coherent speech from another living person, he falls into a state of shock or insanity. When Salad Fingers himself speaks, his voice is generally gentle and fluid though occasionally sharp and stern, and also appears in the cartoon as animated text. The eerie music featured in the background is the tune "Beware the Friendly Stranger" by Boards of Canada. The dark music in the soundtrack that appears when Salad Fingers is scared is actually Firth playing the guitar, slowed down and reversed. Other music included in Salad Fingers episodes includes work credited to Brian Eno, Sigur Rós and Aphex Twin.[3] David Firth frequently inserts references to Aphex Twin in his flash cartoons; for example, the Aphex Twin logo can be found on the telephone in Salad Fingers episode five. Firth has also cited the films of David Lynch, South Park, Tim Burton, the League of Gentlemen and Chris Morris as sources of inspiration.[3] this bit from the nice people at wikipedia, click HERE for the total run out on the Master and salad fingers fat pie podcasts Our podcast begins today! It"s an AUDIO podcast (expected groans and loss of interest) but don"t worry, we"re not just waffling on for hours about ourselves. It"s more of a comedy sketch show with lots of improv but also lots of written stuff. It"s based around the radio station WALLER FM and features many many characters, some old and loads of new. You can listen to the episodes on here, or do loads of fancy "subscribing" stuff with your iTunes. The episodes are 30 minutes long, and we"ll be releasing them every 2 weeks.
